To add some more life and "juice" to our mobile project, as well as making all the backgrounds for the levels, win screen, and obstacles/level design. AI is affecting our economy and business practices. I'm also aware that it will affect the job market in the future. I have many passions and hobbies but being able to draw is not one of them. As a solo developer living on a part-time work salary while funding my degree, I cannot afford to hire a professional graphic designer for my needs. I can, however, pay a small subscription to be able to access great artwork, for a limited budget.24 hours a day. 7 days a week. With no turnaround time.
That being said. we needed a nonverbal story to communicate with our players. It has a simple story of a father trying to obtain robotic critters for his daughter's birthday. Initially, i did not think that it would work but, as an experiment. I asked GPT4 Dall-e :

This is what it came up with regardless of the spelling mistakes :) :

these scenes are good but the character was slightly off, so I decided to use the second dad as the base model.

to help the AI in creating the storyboard, I gave it some reference images to get closer to the project visuals.

It's not perfect but I think it's a valuable addition to the project. This gives the player an objective for the game and a reason to play, with a simple but emotive storyline. A father trying to do his best for his kids' birthday.
